Erin M. Gullatt, MD, FACOG
Erin Gullatt, MD, FACOG, a board-certified OB-GYN doctor (American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology) and a Fellow of the College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (FACOG), was born and raised in the Shreveport-Bossier City area. She graduated from Airline High School and spent her undergraduate years at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in biological sciences. Dr. Gullatt returned home to attend medical school at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center-Shreveport before venturing south to New Orleans for her OB-GYN residency. New Orleans was a vibrant place to begin marriage with her husband and for her to gain a lot of experience, but the small-town girl in Dr. Gullatt couldn’t wait to get back to her roots and closer to family. After practicing in North Louisiana for two years, she decided that was not quite close enough to “home.” When an opportunity arose to come practice here at Willis-Knighton Pierremont amongst her closest family and friends, she was so excited! Dr. Gullatt with her husband and two sons felt welcomed with open arms.
Family has a lot to do with Dr. Gullatt’s decision to practice obstetrics and gynecology. Raised in a close-knit family with two sisters, communicating and relating to other women is one of her strengths. Dr. Gullatt loves delivering babies and performing surgery, but the relational part of the job is her absolute favorite. She sees patients from start to finish, and she has the privilege to develop an authentic relationship with them.
Dr. Gullatt believes the doctor-patient relationship is best when it is two-sided and when patients feel that their needs are met. Her approach is to be open, honest and positive. First, she tries to understand why the patient felt the need to come to the doctor and what they are hoping to get out of the visit. Dr. Gullatt thoroughly discusses all options to ensure women understand what she thinks the woman could gain from particular treatments. Dr. Gullatt gives her patients a comfortable atmosphere in which they can get to know her and build trust.
Dr. Gullatt is proud to serve women as their OB-GYN. When not in the office, she enjoys all things outdoors and spending quality time with family.
