Marty Mayfield, NP

Marty Mayfield, WHNP-BC, was born in El Dorado, Arkansas, and grew up south of there in a small community known as Three Creeks. She graduated from Junction City High School before attending South Arkansas Community College to obtain her practical nursing certificate. While working as a licensed practical nurse (LPN), Mayfield returned to college to obtain a degree as a registered nurse (RN) in 1999 from Baptist Schools of Nursing and Allied Health. After working as an RN for several years, Mayfield decided to further her education once again. She graduated with her bachelor’s and Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from Northwestern State University. Mayfield has worked at WK Pierremont OB-GYN Specialists since obtaining her board certification as a women’s health nurse practitioner (WHNP-BC by National Certification Corporation) in 2012.

Women’s health, especially obstetrics, has always been dear to Mayfield’s heart. Choosing this specialty was an easy decision after spending most of her nursing career in labor and delivery units. Caring for women throughout the many stages of their life is something she has always enjoyed and found extremely rewarding.

Her hobbies include spending time with family and friends, LSU football, hunting and fishing.

Mayfield is married and the mother of one daughter.
